Most of us have experienced it before: the feeling of dread that washes over you when you realize you’re about to spend a week cooped up with your partner in a tiny hotel room. Suddenly, all those little things that you normally ignore start to drive you crazy. The way they leave their clothes on the floor, the way they snore, the way they hog the covers… Before you know it, you’re arguing about nothing and ruined your entire vacation. But why does this happen? And more importantly, how can we stop it?

It’s All About Expectations

One of the main reasons couples argue on vacation is because their expectations are different. For example, one person might be envisioning a relaxing beach vacation where they spend their days lounging in the sun and reading books, while their partner might be looking forward to an action-packed trip filled with hiking and exploring. If these expectations aren’t aligned from the beginning, it’s likely that there will be some conflict down the road.

A couple arguing over something.

How to Avoid It

The best way to avoid this issue is to talk about your expectations for the trip before you even start packing your bags. Sit down with your partner and discuss what kind of vacation you both want to have. Do you want to spend your days exploring or relaxing? Do you want to stick to a strict budget or splurge on a few activities? Once you’ve ironed out all the details, you’ll be much less likely to find yourself arguing about them later on.

It’s Not Always Just About Expectations…

Of course, it’s not always as simple as just aligning your expectations. There are other factors that can contribute to arguments on vacation, such as fatigue, boredom, and jealousy. If you find yourself getting into arguments more often than you’d like while on vacation, try to take a step back and analyze what might be causing them. Are you simply exhausted from all the sightseeing? Are you bored because there’s nothing to do? Or are you feeling jealous because your partner seems to be having more fun than you are? Once you identify the root cause of the problem, it will be much easier to find a solution.

Vacation should be a time for relaxation and fun, but all too often it turns into a week-long argument fest. If you’re tired of fighting with your partner every time you go on vacation, use these tips to avoid arguments before they start. First, talk about your expectations for the trip and make sure they’re aligned. Second, try to identify any potential sources of conflict, such as fatigue or boredom. By taking these steps, you’ll be well on your way to having a much more enjoyable vacation.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law that provides employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. Employees are eligible for FMLA if they have worked for their employer for at least 12 months and have logged at least 1,250 hours during that time. But what does that mean for your vacation plans? Can you go on vacation while on FMLA? Let’s find out!

No Double-Dipping Allowed

The answer to this question is a bit complicated. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, “if an employee takes FMLA leave for a planned medical treatment, such as surgery, the employee may not also take vacation or other paid leave at the same time.” However, this does not mean that you cannot go on vacation while on FMLA—it just means that you cannot double-dip by using both your vacation days and your FMLA leave at the same time.

So, if you’re planning a trip and you know that you’ll need to take some time off for a medical appointment or procedure, it’s best to use your vacation days first and then take your FMLA leave after your trip is over. This way, you can ensure that you’ll still be able to take advantage of all the benefits of both programs.

The Family Medical Leave Act

Up to 12 Weeks of Unpaid Leave

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law that provides employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. This leave can be used for a variety of reasons, including the birth or adoption of a child, the serious illness of an immediate family member, or the employee’s own serious health condition. But what does this mean for your vacation plans? Can you go on vacation while on FMLA? The answer is a bit complicated but, in short, yes—you can go on vacation while on FMLA as long as you don’t double-dip by using both your vacation days and your FMLA leave at the same time. So start planning those trips and enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation!

International air travel with pets can be a challenging experience for both pet owners and their furry friends. But with proper planning and preparation, it can be a safe and enjoyable journey for all.

To all pet owners, you likely want to take your furry friends with you on your travels and make new memories with them. This will let your pets experience different environments and take many pictures and memories together. This guide will give you everything you need to know about traveling internationally with your pet, so worry no more.

Planning international travel with pets.

Check Travel Requirements

Before you book your flight, make sure to check the travel requirements for your destination. Each country has rules and regulations regarding traveling with pets, including required vaccinations and health certificates. Some countries also have restrictions on certain breeds or species of animals. Researching these requirements well in advance is essential to ensuring your pet meets them before you travel. Here’s more information on that from the US State Department.

Choose the Right Carrier

Choosing a suitable carrier is crucial for a comfortable and safe journey for your pet. Ensure the page is the right size for your pet to stand up, turn around, and lie comfortably. It should also be well-ventilated and sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of air travel. Many airlines have specific requirements for carriers, so make sure to check with your airline before purchasing one.

Get Your Pet Used to the Carrier

Getting your pet used to the carrier well before your trip is essential. Start by leaving the cage in your home with the door open, so your pet can explore and get used to it. Then, gradually start putting your pet in the carrier for short periods, increasing the time until they are comfortable spending extended periods in it.

Booking an international flight.

Choose a Direct Flight

Choose a direct flight to minimize the stress on your pet whenever possible. Layovers and transfers can be stressful for pets and increase the chances of your pet getting lost or mishandled during the trip.

Book Early

Many airlines have limits on the number of pets they can transport on each flight, so booking your pet’s travel well in advance is essential to ensure that space is available. Some airlines also require a certain amount of notice before allowing pets on board, so make sure to check with your airline for their specific requirements.

Prepare for the Flight

On the day of the flight, prepare your pet for the journey. Feed your pet a light meal a few hours before the flight, and ensure they have water access throughout the trip. Take your pet for a walk before the flight to help them relax and burn off some energy. Also, pack any necessary medications, food, or toys in your pet’s carrier.

Preparing to fly with your dog.

Check-In Early

When you arrive at the airport, check in early and notify the airline that you will be traveling with a pet. Some airlines require pets to be checked in separately from other baggage, so clarify this with the airline. Allow extra time for security and customs procedures, as these can take longer when traveling with a pet.

Board the Flight Last

When boarding the flight, it’s best to board last to minimize your pet’s time in the carrier. This will also give you time to settle your pet in its carrier and ensure they are comfortable before takeoff.

Monitor Your Pet During the Flight

During the flight, make sure to monitor your pet closely. Check on them regularly to ensure they are comfortable and their carrier is secure. If you notice any signs of distress, notify a flight attendant immediately.

Arriving at Your Destination

Once you arrive at your destination, you must take your pet for a walk and allow them to use the bathroom before continuing your journey. Check with customs officials for any procedures or paperwork required for your pet’s entry into the country.

Traveling internationally with your pet can be a rewarding experience for you and your furry friend, but it requires careful planning and preparation. Following these tips and preparing correctly ensures a safe and comfortable journey for your pet. Always remember to check the travel requirements for your destination, choose the suitable carrier, get your pet used to the airline, book early, prepare for the flight, check in before, board the flight last, monitor your pet during the flight, and take care of your pet upon arrival.

Boarding Your Dog During the Trip

When you arrive, some of your travels may involve places that aren’t pet-friendly. In those cases, you can choose to find a local facility that offers dog boarding. This will allow your pet to stay comfortable while you experience the destination. When researching boarding facilities, make sure they offer a clean environment and follow all safety guidelines.

Look for reviews online to get an idea of other people’s experiences with specific locations. Also, be sure to ask plenty of questions before making a final decision. You’ll want to confirm that the facility is capable of meeting your pet’s needs and that they can provide special care if required. By taking the time to research and plan ahead, you’ll be able to focus on enjoying your trip knowing that your pet is in good hands. So don’t forget to look into boarding options for your furry family members before you go! Happy travels!

Retrieving luggage at the airport.

Not sure where to travel with your pet? Here’s a few fun destinations to choose from:

Paris

Rhodes

Australia’s Gold Coast

Thailand

It’s also important to remember that air travel can be stressful for pets, so it’s always a good idea to speak with your veterinarian before you travel. They can provide advice and tips specific to your pet’s needs and any necessary medications or supplements to help your pet stay calm during the trip. Additionally, you should check the rules and regulations of the airline you are traveling with to know what is allowed in the cabin and under the plane.

It’s also important to consider your pet’s safety while in transit. Be sure they have an ID tag attached to their collar or harness at all times, as well as a sturdy carrier with plenty of ventilation. Also, make sure to provide food and water during the trip and an appropriate waste disposal system, especially if it’s a long flight. Finally, if you are traveling with a pet younger than 12 weeks old, inform the airline beforehand so that they can adequately prepare for your pet’s needs.

The last piece of advice is always to treat your pet with kindness and patience throughout the journey. Traveling can be overwhelming for animals, so providing them with plenty of love, attention, and reassurance is essential. You and your pet can enjoy a safe and happy journey together with the proper preparation and care.

If you’re like most people, the idea of going on vacation is very appealing. After all, who doesn’t love the idea of taking a break from work and spending some time relaxing in a beautiful location? That being said, there’s one thing that can often put a damper on even the most well-planned vacation: being disorganized.

Whether you’re planning a trip for yourself or for your family, it’s important to be as organized as possible. After all, the last thing you want is to spend your hard-earned vacation time feeling stressed out and frazzled. In this blog post, we’ll give you some tips on how to stay organized on vacation so that you can relax and enjoy yourself. Keep reading to learn more!

Stay organized on your vacation

5 Tips to Stay Organized Without Losing Your Mind in the Process

  1. Make a packing list.
The first step to staying organized on vacation is to make a packing list. This will help ensure that you don’t forget any essential items and that you only pack what you need. To make things even easier, try to pack as light as possible so that you don’t have to lug around a heavy suitcase. Remember, it’s always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to packing—you can always buy items that you forgot at your destination.
  2. Choose the right luggage.
Once you’ve made your packing list, it’s time to choose the right luggage for the job. If you’re only going away for a few days, a small carry-on bag should suffice. However, if you’re going on a longer trip, you might need a larger suitcase or even a set of suitcases. It’s also important to choose luggage that is durable and easy to carry—you don’t want your vacation getting off to a bad start by struggling with your luggage at the airport!
  3. Create an itinerary.
If you’re traveling to multiple destinations or if you’re going to be gone for an extended period of time, it’s a good idea to create an itinerary. This will help ensure that you don’t miss anything important and that you make the most of your time while you’re away. When creating an itinerary, be sure to leave some free time so that you can explore your surroundings and do some spontaneous sightseeing—after all, part of the fun of traveling is getting lost in new places!
  4. Stay connected.
In today’s day and age, it’s easier than ever to stay connected while traveling. With just a few clicks, you can keep in touch with family and friends back home using social media or video chat services such as Skype or Facetime. You can also use these services to stay up-to-date on what’s happening in the world—which can come in handy if there’s an emergency at home or if something important comes up while you’re away.
  5. Keep track of your belongings.
It’s important to keep track of your belongings while traveling, especially if you’re going to be in crowded places such as airports or train stations. A good way to do this is by keeping all of your essential items—passport, boarding pass, etc.—in one place so that they’re not scattered throughout your luggage. You can also invest in travel insurance in case any of your belongings are lost or stolen while you’re away from home—better safe than sorry!

These are just a few tips on how to stay organized on vacation! By following these tips, you can rest assured knowing that everything is under control—leaving you free to relax and enjoy yourself without having to worry about anything else except having fun!

How Kevin Toured The World And Saved Money On Hotel Deals

It was a long-awaited trip for Kevin. He was going on a world tour. It was going to be a trip of a lifetime. He wanted to see every corner of the world. He had a total of 100 days and a budget.  He handpicked some of the fabulous destinations from around the world and was ready to explore. He wanted to see the world with his eyes and experience how every destination differed despite being close to each other.

He began with Canada. Can any other destination beat its scenic beauty?  The ways he could explore the landscape were numerous. He could try mountain biking, hiking, and skiing. Thankfully, he had gone prepared for adventure sports and mind-blowing landscape. Next was Europe. It is a continent that has a rich history. The variety of museums, castles, theatres, art galleries, haute couture fashion would never be enough for Kevin. The hotels have the touch of technology and Kevin would never feel afar from home.

Next in line was Asia. It is the biggest continent of all and for any westerner, a trip to Asia becomes one of the most memorable ones. The hotels offer enough scope to explore the natural bounty and breathtaking scenery. Australia welcomes everyone who wants to join for scuba diving on the coral reef and cuddle Koalas at the forest reserves. Africa is the next continent. Quite well known for its wildlife, this continent could give Kevin an attractive tan free of cost!  Finally, yet importantly, South America is the continent that can give every traveler a taste of the mighty Inca Empire. Kevin too wanted to walk through the twisted paths of the dense jungles and spot the ancient pyramids. At the end of his research, Kevin could utter just two words: Absolutely Amazing!

He now had a list of top destinations that he wished to visit: Toronto, London, Paris, Prague, Rome, Mexico City, Queensland, Hong Kong, and Dubai. However, before everything else he needed to find for himself the hotel where he was going to spend his days.  The hotel should provide him comfortable stay, and premium services and should be within his budget. With prices skyrocketing, Kevin decided to choose the best for himself by comparing all the deals available over the internet. He procured a list of all the hotels of his desired destinations from the web. He started visiting the websites of every hotel and noted down their prices. A whole weekend was spent that way only. However, unfortunately, he had not been able to solve his quest for the best deal because, with so many choices of hotels and their deals, it was next to impossible for him to find out the best and most pocket friendly of all.

Well, there is one way to get the best hotel deals online from the comforts of your home. After extensive research, the best site for hotel deals is Hoteldealsite.com. This is the place where Kevin got the best deals for his world tour. The website is easy to navigate and understand. Type in your destination, check-in, and check-out dates and you can get a list of all the deals that the hotels at your destination are offering. Compare the deals and select the one that serves your purpose. Next time when Kevin has to go for a vacation he knows where to go for the perfect deals.

Is it starting to feel like the nine-to-five is taking over your life? It’s important to remember that, although work is important, it should not be everything. Taking a break helps you to recharge your batteries. If you take a vacation away from it all, you can also get to experience new cultures and see sights that you have never witnessed before. What better way to do this than to take to the water?

Many people think of cruises as being formal affairs. They imagine that time is spent dressing up to attend events on board a ship. Not all cruises are like this though; there are some unusual cruise experiences that can really open your eyes to the world.

Cruising the Norwegian Arctic

Cruising in this part of the world makes you feel as though you are visiting a magical wonderland. You get to watch in awe as you pass by immense icebergs and breathtaking fjords. If you love animals, this is definitely a trip you will enjoy. The most amazing sight is probably that of polar bears in the wild. You can also get to see creatures such as reindeer, walruses, and beluga whales. You may think that cruising in this area would be a cold experience, but this is not the case. Travel between June and August inclusive, and you will get to experience a fairly temperate climate.

Cruising along the Mississippi

Mississippi river cruises give you the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the world’s fourth-largest river. This is part of the world where bourbon comes from, and you can follow the trail of its history. Music fans can follow in the footsteps of Elvis Presley, by visiting Graceland. The culture of this part of the US is heavily influenced by Europe. You can instantly see this influence if you pay a visit to the French Quarter of New Orleans. Taking a cruise along the Mississippi is a non-stop feast of different cuisines, accompanied by an array of music, as a treat for the ears.

Cruising in Borneo

This is the place to go for anyone who loves wildlife. There is a huge diversity of animal life in Borneo. One of the most familiar sights is that of orangutans in the wild. You can arrange to take part in a trek in one of the national parks on the island. Borneo is emblazoned with some of the most beautiful rainforest landscapes in the world. The beauty of the third largest island on the planet is not just land-based though. The waters surrounding Borneo are a joy to behold. They are home to eye-catching marine life and teeming coral reefs. A cruise in Borneo is something you are guaranteed to never forget.

All of these cruises have something special to offer any traveler. If you want to take a vacation remember, they all fit the bill perfectly.

Hopefully, you now have some great ideas for your next cruise holiday. What are you waiting for? Pack your bags and start planning!

Regardless of what kind of traveler you are, there is a perfect cruise for everyone. Whether it’s sailing in the Norwegian Arctic to spot wildlife, cruising along the Mississippi River, or exploring the rainforests of Borneo, these unique cruises offer something truly special that will stay with you long after the voyage ends. Collaboration with Amanda Green

There are all kinds of things to do no matter where in Los Angeles you are. Some of them might be silly, while others, you might consider adventurous. Some of the available activities are not really traditional, and others might be considered to be a bit more intellectual. However, if you want to have the true Hollywood experience, you might want to surrender to the kitsch and plan to do a few of the tops things listed here when you are in Hollywood.

Forecourt of the Stars

One of the best things to do in Hollywood on vacation, especially if you are interested in the movie business, is to check out the Chinese Theatre. Outside of that imposing edifice, you will be able to put your feet and hands right where your favorite movie stars did. The famous sidewalk is located right on Hollywood Boulevard at Highland and Hollywood. If you manage to time your visit perfectly, you might also want to tour the original Chinese Theatre.

Walk of Fame

This is where you see the stars getting their own star on Hollywood Boulevard. See which ones you recognize among the variety of radio personalities, actors, and singers, and even other types of celebrities who have stars. You can read all about all of the interesting facts, controversies, and history of the Walk of Fame, as well as where to look to find the stars you are searching for.

For Kids of All Ages

If you have kids, or are a kid at heart yourself, you might want to consider getting out of the city for a bit and having some fun at Legoland. The one in Carlsbad is one of 6 amusement parks centered around the colorful building blocks that are spread throughout 5 countries. This one can be found less than 2 hours from Hollywood, and offers a variety of rides and activities for the entire family.

Hollywood Sign

One of the favorite things to do in Hollywood is to take pictures of the Hollywood Sign. You can get good ones from a vantage point on Highland and Hollywood. That said, there are many places where you can get a good view of it, but if you want getting good shots to be easy, you might want to take your pictures from the viewing bridges that are at the Hollywood and Highland complex that is adjacent to the Chinese Theatre.

Guided Walking Tours

Hollywood is quite a walkable city. It is loaded with historic markers all around to tell you what the history behind the different landmarks and buildings is. You can read all of them by yourself, but you won’t get the same experience and little stories that are inherent in one of the guided walking tours.

Hollywood Bowl

This landmark is a band shell shaped like a half dome. It has been the inspiration for many band shells across the globe. This band shell is situated in the largest amphitheater in the Untied States that is a natural formation. It has been host to some of the greatest musical acts in history and continues to host musical acts throughout the summer. You can just explore it or get tickets for a concert.

TV Shows

If you really want to immerse yourself in the culture of Hollywood, get tickets to the taping of your favorite TV show. This allows you to get close to the celebrities you love. These tickets are typically free and you can get them for game shows, talk shows, and even for sitcoms. Even when you visit during the off season, you can generally still get tickets to pilots or game shows.

Universal Studios Hollywood

This is a combination studio tour and movie based theme park. They have special effects shows that draw crowds just as much as the rides do. The Universal City Walk is adjacent and is also a popular area for shopping and entertainment. This is technically not located in Hollywood, but in a neighborhood known as Universal City. It is still only a 3 minute ride with the Metro to get there though, so it still counts as an attraction in Hollywood.

Warner Brother’s Studio Tours

This is another studio tour, but this one takes you through the actual sets of some of the most famous movies and TV shows. You can get a glimpse into how these shows are made and even explore iconic movie sets like those from Friends or Harry Potter! This is a must-do for any fan of film and television.

Griffith Observatory

This is an observatory that offers great views of Los Angeles as well as educational spaces and astronomy programs. It was featured in many classic films including James Dean’s Rebel Without a Cause. The observatory also features incredible exhibits about space exploration, telescopes to explore the night sky, and an array of other activities for guests to check out.

Melrose Avenue Shopping

If you’re a shopaholic like me, then you’d love strolling around Melrose Avenue. It’s full of unique stores and museums such as the vintage store Wasteland, the Museum of Death, and the iconic Pink Wall, which is covered in Instagram photos from around the world. There are also many small trendy shops to explore here. So if you’re up for some shopping, this is definitely a great place to go!

Visit Barnsdall Art Park

This unique park features a Frank Lloyd Wright designed theater, the Hollyhock House, a gallery, and some of the best views of Los Angeles. It’s also home to Saturday art classes for children and families, which makes it an ideal place for family activities. There is also free admission on Thursdays from 12-5pm! So make sure you check this out if you’re looking for some amazing sights in the area.

Visit Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

This iconic theatre is located right next to Hollywood Boulevard and has been standing since 1927. It features famous handprints, footprints and signatures of celebrities who have visited the cinema over the years. You can find stars like Marilyn Monroe, Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise and many more here! This is a great spot to take photos and explore the history of Hollywood.

Check Out Dolby Theater

Dolby Theater is the most famous theater in Hollywood and home to the Academy Awards. It’s also where many movie premieres take place, which means you have a chance to rub shoulders with some of the biggest stars in showbiz! There are also interactive museum displays that showcase the history of film, fashion, music and more. This is a great place for any film buff!

Take A Hike Up Runyon Canyon Park

If you’re looking for some fresh air and amazing views of Los Angeles then look no further than Runyon Canyon Park. This popular hiking destination offers spectacular views and trails that range from easy to difficult levels. So if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and off the beaten path, this is the perfect spot.

These are just some of the many amazing attractions that Hollywood has to offer. From studio tours to art galleries and even hiking trails, there’s something for everyone in this vibrant city. So if you’re ever visiting Los Angeles, make sure you take the time to explore all that Hollywood has to offer!
